Putting her son to rest on Monday (March 8), Marie Osmond and family gathered at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel in Provo, Utah.
The moving service for Michael Bryan, who took his own life, was attended by his seven siblings and show business uncles, including Donny, who delivered the invocation through tears, according to People magazine.
The night Michael committed suicide, he had planned on spending the evening with a female friend. But at he talst minute, he apparently changed his mind and sent a text to the female friend telling her of a note he had left for her and a neighbor in his apartment. Michael’s female friend and the neighbor went with real concern to see that note Michael was talking about. The note made reference to the female friend being his only friend. Not knowing what had happened, right after reading the note, the female friend and the neighbor became immediately concerned and were shocked to hear sirens start coming to their location. And as they looked outside, emergency vehicles were pulling up to their building.
Michael’s suicide was confirmed shortly after.
The singer and brother Donny will sing again for audiences on March 9. They have also added a handful of dates to their Sin City show, in order to make up for canceled performances in wake of their recent family tragedy.
The duo has tacked on five shows between April 13 and 17 at the Flamingo Hotel & Casino.
"These were previously unscheduled show dates, added to accommodate guests who had tickets to recently canceled shows due to the personal tragedy in the Osmond family," read a press release, while the show's producer added:
"I think performing will help the healing process for [Marie]."

And the celebrity related suicide story this week is about Marie Osmond’s 18 year-old son. Ugh. So sad. Even sadder is that he sent a text message just minutes before he took his life to a neighbor indicating there was a suicide note for her in his room.
Michael Blosil, one of Marie Osmond’s eight children, jumped to his death from his downtown apartment building around 9PM. Minutes later, in reponse to the text message, the neighbor entered Blosil’s apartment to find the note. Reportedly, the note claimed the woman was Blosil’s only good friend in L.A. and he was very unhappy.
Law enforcement sources say the note did not explicitly mention suicide, though it spelled out things Blosil would be doing for the last time. The woman and Blosil’s roommates became alarmed but had no time to seek help; they became aware of sirens and saw emergency vehicles already on the street below the apartment.
When Blosil’s roommates spoke to police, they confirmed that he was sober around the time of his death, though he had struggled with addiction in the past. Following the divorce of his parents, Michael became depressed and in November 2007, entered rehab.
Michael Blosil, the 18 year-old son of Marie Osmond, killed himself Friday night around 9 p.m. by jumping off his apartment building in downtown Los Angeles. Michael left a suicide note that said he battled life-long depression that made him feel he had no friends. Marie’s rep released the following statement:
"My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time."
Andrew Koenig was found dead on Thursday after taking his own life. Andrew also indicated he killed himself after battling years of depression. Andrew was the son of a celebrity, as he was for a short time during his brief acting career.
Many suicides happen in clusters. Hopefully those people out there who feel hopeless right now will talk to a friend, or family, or call a hotline for help rather than taking their own life. When life seems the darkest there are brighter days coming. Just be patient, stay strong, and talk to someone.
