Heidi Montag Files For Divorce; Spencer Pratt Calls Marriage a "Show" For The Hills

Ever since the first reports of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt splitting up, Hills fans understandably assumed wondered if it was another big PR hoax.

Looks like it isn't.

Almost two months after the plastic princess went to court seeking legal separation from the puppet master, the reality star has filed for divorce.

Heidi Montag cites the usual "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the pair's split in a divorce petition filed in Santa Monica, Calif., Court.

"Heidi has amended her petition for separation and has filed a petition for dissolution of marriage from Spencer Pratt," attorney Jodeane Farrell said. The couple has agreed they would like their divorce to be finalized in a timely manner."

Hopefully Spencer Pratt finds comfort in his beloved crystals.

Adding that terms will be hashed out in an out of court settlement, Farrell said "both parties are amicable with each other and finalizing the divorce."

The couple staged a sham wedding in Cabo in 2008, then tied the knot for real in April 2009 at a church in Pasadena, Calif., appearing happy.

Things went downhill fast, however.

Heidi Montag underwent 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, fired Spencer as her manager, released terrible music, accused The Hills creator Adam DiVello of sexual harassment and became estranged from her family and so on.

For his part, Spencer Pratt has grown increasingly eccentric, and even admitted to being a fame whore and choosing his "career" over his wife.

Heidi Montag then and now. Enough said.

He echoed that sentiment yesterday to People.

"I love Heidi but our marriage was a show – it was part of The Hills world," Pratt said after the divorce filing. "That world is on a sound stage."

Referring to himself in the third-person, he adds: "It's clear that reality TV-fame-loving Spencer Pratt does not fit with my ex-wife Heidi Montag's ambitions for a motion picture actor/pop star career and being a single sex symbol for the world."

"Some say if you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen, Well, Heidi couldn't handle King Spencer's fame so she got out of the marriage."

Right. So basically, his stardom is just too enormous. Makes sense.

The Hills Finale Recap: The End of an Error

After six seasons of drama, The Hills ended its run on MTV in appropriate fashion, with cameras panning back to expose just how manufactured that drama is.

More on that in a little bit.

Supposedly, Kristin Cavallari is moving to Europe, because she "needs a change." Note: she never went to Europe, and she never pined for Brody Jenner. At all.

Elsewhere, Lo and Scott move in together, Audrina decided to get a new house by the beach, and Stephanie is kinda dating that guy Josh now, if anyone cares.

Nowhere to be found, except dressed like an old man outside the finale party? Spencer Pratt. Here's THG's recap of Tuesday's series finale of The Hills ...

FINAL FOUR: The female stars of The Hills at the series finale party.

Stephanie Pratt tells the girls she is happy with her life, while Audrina Patridge says she's still trying to figure hers out. When is she NOT trying to do that? Minus 4.

Brody plays golf with the guys and says he didn't realize things with Kristin would take the turn they did. Yeah, the scripts are sometimes pretty surprising. Plus 5.

Kristin tells Stacie about Brody's girlfriend and admits she's "bummed." We are too. They won't even mention Avril Lavigne by name, and he can do better. Minus 3.

Lo and Scott move in together. Cute. Plus 6, despite the obvious fact they're just looking to kill time with Stephanie and Lo, bit players for much of the series.

"Bored" Kristin tells Brody she's moving to Europe (LOL) for the summer or maybe longer (ROTFL). Naturally, she's having a big goodbye bash with cameras! Plus 8.

Not even an acknowledgment of Spencer Pratt and/or Heidi Montag, Hills? Where did they even go? Did Adam DiVello have Heidi bumped off? We worry. Minus 20.

Brody finally arrives and says he didn't understand her feelings. Kristin is tearful as Brody says he'll miss her. "Don't leave," he pleads. She wipes a tear away from his supposedly sad face and hugs him. Kristin even says this is a crock. Minus 34.

Audrina isn't going to Kristin's because she wants to move away from the "scene" and avoid bumping into Justin-Bobby. We'd steer clear of the stench too. Plus 7.

Scott to Lo, who he says he would marry right now: "It takes a while to find the right person and you are perfect." Minus 11. Just propose if you're serious, dude.

As Kristin speeds off, cameras focus on Brody with the Hollywood sign behind him ... but it was only a painting, later revealed to show the camera crew and staff. Then the cameras stop rolling, Kristin gets out of the limo and hugs Brody, despite the bull$h!t regarding her leaving. What a giant Eff You to fans. Plus 100.

The Hills Recap: Brody Jenner is "Seeing Someone"

As we gear up toward what can only be described as an epic series finale July 13, the penultimate episode of The Hills certainly featured a lot of things going on.

Some of them possibly even real!

Heidi Montag's sister Holly and Darlene Egelhoff, their mom, lamented that Heidi has gone totally off the rails. They've been trying to reach her but can't.

Kristin Cavallari puts it all out there and says she has feelings for Brody Jenner, but he isn't really reciprocating the fake love. Lo and Stephanie also star.

Brody's friend Josh, who races motorcycles, introduces himself to Stephanie Pratt, and the pair have an instant connection - they don't drink. Plus 4.

Holly Montag picks her mom up from the airport. They'll have to wait for Heidi to come around. Minus 3 for falsely getting our hopes up for Speidi, Hills.

Kristin tells Stacie how Brody wants to talk and it's, like, her chance to finally tell him how she feels. Minus 6, because it's really the producers' chance.

SIDEKICK STEPH: She-Pratt's falling fast and hard for a new man.

Holly tries calling, but her voicemail isn't activated. We're sure that's real, much like Spencer's apology to LC, which she wasn't actually listening to. Minus 5.

Scott surprises Lo on their one year anniversary by asking her if she wants to move in together. Plus 7, because while we really don't care, they're very sweet!

Kristin lays it all out there. Brody says he's sorry, but he's met someone else. Minus 14 because we know this, and Kristin does too, and it's a famous musician.

Nearly lost for words, Darlene tells Holly that since Heidi Montag has been gone, it feels like she's mourning the loss of a child. Not at all melodramatic. Plus 8.

Kristin cries when she tells Lo that Brody rejected her and is seeing someone else. Bull$h!t, since she's dating Miguel Medina, a Hills cameraman! Minus 20.

Lauren Conrad to Appear on The Hills Reunion

Lauren Conrad is finally returning to The Hills ... right after it ends.

One week from tonight, the girl who made the MTV reality show a hit will be on hand for the Live Reunion Show after the now-sagging series mercifully goes off the air.

The reunion will immediately follow the series finale of The Hills and the season finale of The City. Whitney Port reported the LC news, as well as her own attendance:

"I am so happy to tell you all that I will be attending the reunion, as will Lauren!" Whitney wrote on her official site. "I am so excited to see everyone and catch up."

"I am so excited to see what's next for them," the former Hills star and current City leading lady continued. "It's been so long since we have all been together."

REUNITED: For one night and one night only, next Tuesday.

What remains unclear is whether Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, exiled from the show in recent weeks without notice, will appear between now and July 13.

The gruesome twosome was featured prominently in the first part of this season, but then Spencer went haywire, they supposedly broke up in real life, etc.

It's not clear why, but there has been no explanation of their vanishing from the series. Tonight, the penultimate episode of The Hills airs, followed by The City.

The former will likely focus on Kristin and Audrina's predictably boring romantic drama. Sigh. We can only hope Speidi returns to liven things up one last time.

The Hills Recap: Make Up to Throw Up

Somebody please explain this one to us, if you don't mind.

At what point did Justin-Bobby become more than a transient figure, but a guy The Hills is based around, with Kristin Cavallari and Audrina Patridge smitten?

What is the appeal of this guy? What woman doesn't love a mysterious, shady individual morally opposed to haircuts, bathing, working or speaking coherently?

It is useless to resist.

Audrina Patridge proved again that she cannot quit him, casting Ryan Cabrera aside. Meanwhile, Kristin brought the ruckus to that psycho b!tch Allie Lutz.

Allie spots Kristin across the club and tries to make amends, but Kristin calls her and their awesomely snarky confrontation almost gets physical. Plus 12.

BITCH PLEASE: Kristin Cavallari will bring it, Allie Lutz. Step. Away.

Kristin shows up at Smashbox to meet Lo for lunch and is fake surprised to see McKaela there. Wow, can you BELIEVE the coincidental run-ins on this show? Plus 7.

Ryan Cabrera asks Audrina why she left his show early and she says it's just too hard for her to hear him sing, 'cause the feelings just aren't there. Weak. Minus 8.

No Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. Again. Minus 10.

Kristin invites Justin to Audrina's b-day party for reasons unknown. Minus 5. Weren't these two supposedly together at the end of last season? That fizzled fast.

Audrina and Stephanie talk about the difficulties of relationships and the importance of honesty ... except when faking every single scene for a reality show. Plus 3.

Justin-Bobby tells Audrina he's happy where the two of them are now. Sitting at THG World Headquarters writing this, we wish we could say the same. Minus 5.

Spencer Pratt: The Tweeting Rampage Returns!

Cut off by The Hills, and possibly by his wife, Spencer Pratt has been left alone with his thoughts. Fortunately, he still a Twitter account on which to share them.

Without any reality show producers to worry about, the hothead returned to the social networking site after a prolonged absence, unleashing a fury of Tweets.

No one is safe.

While he did not directly address his separation from Heidi Montag, Spencer targeted Hills stars and strangers alike in a rant easily comprising 100+ Tweets.

On Lo Bosworth: “Lo has been banging 60 year old rich guys on the side to keep up her look because she only gets paid few grand and plays star HAHA.”

“I pray to see @lobosworth ugly ass out in a club now that i can do whatever i want without feeling bad for heidi! lo your [sic] f--ked! Wh-re!”

Spencer Pratt has officially lost it.

On Audrina Patridge, who he previously accused of getting "Tijuana plastic surgery": “Audrina has fake everything. Damn we fakeass reality show foolios.”

On Whitney Port, now the star of MTV's The City: “No whitney port sucks and has ever since we were in high school together before all her surgeries.”

On Heidi's mom, Darlene Egelhoff: "it's her fake mom. ask the government! darlene lied about everything she told Heidi. she stole heidi as a baby! REAL."

Wow. Spreading the love to strangers as well, Spencer targeted a particular Twitter user from England who had been writing to him, sending replies.

“Glad we didn’t let you in America foreigner b--ch! USA is to [sic] smart for you fool. log off our American website and go do something foreigner.”

Heidi filed for legal separation from Spencer on June 8 with photographers in tow, igniting speculation that the couple was just scheming for publicity.

With Spencer absent from The Hills and real life in recent weeks, however, you have to wonder if Heidi really did up and leave the nut job for good.

The Hills Recap: Poor Ryan Cabrera!

Another week, another episode of The Hills that could have used a dose of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who have just vanished from it with no explanation.

Amusingly, Speidi's real life drama is chronicled on the MTV show's official blog, despite no sign of them on the show in weeks, or acknowledgment of this fact.

In any case, the show was more of the same that we've seen in recent weeks - Allie Lutz continues to vie for McKaela Line and battles it out with Team Kristin.

Seriously, this is what The Hills has become, and alas, what it will continue to be in all likelihood. Lauren Conrad and Speidi are not walking through that door!

Here's THG's plus-minus recap of last night's The Hills ...

Once again torn between Justin-Bobby and a superior guy, Audrina Patridge talks with Lo, who asks if she'd take J-B back if he changed. No answer. Minus 14.

Justin-Bobby gets thugged out at the club - and deep, man.

Kristin Cavallari tells Brody Jenner that she warned McKaela about Allie and alleged break-in we're supposed to care about. She's so catty, it's great. Plus 7.

Allie insists to McKaela that Kristin's stories about her are, like, so totally not true and drops the classic drunk girl line: "They don't even KNOW me!" Plus 5.

Everybody heads to Les Deux later - including Justin-Bobby and Ryan Cabrera, who have the most awkward introduction ever. Plus 9, because that was real!

Justin-Bobby tells Brody that Audrina "deserves the world" and doesn't need grief. Minus 12, because there's no way he didn't read that off MTV's cue cards.

Stephanie and Max are having a nice dinner when talk turns to her estranged relationship with Spencer Pratt and her DUI arrest. Double buzzkill! Minus 9.

When Audrina suggests that the "honeymoon" is over, Ryan says "If we caught each other at the wrong time, we need to figure it out. It's your life." Plus 5.

The cheese factor is amped up to 11 when, live in concert, he says he wants to sing a love song, which prompts Audrina to start crying. Words fail us. Wash.

Side note: You gotta love how Ryan, unlike the others who receive just a single name (e.g. Audrina, McKaela, Kristin), is always billed as Ryan Cabrera. Plus 3.

Stephanie says she isn't sure if she is ready to date at this stage, at least until she finds a guy who understands her life. Minus 8. Um, girl, get over yourself.

At the Young Hollywood Party, Audrina Patridge hints at a breakup with Ryan. Too bad, because he actually seems like a good dude, despite the hair. Minus 7.

In vintage Hills fashion, an argument soon erupts between Kristin and Allie before Brody breaks it up. Poor McKaela just looks lost, unsure what to do. Plus 8.

Kristin thanks Brody for having her back, which he says he always will ... unless he wants to nail some new girl. They walk off arm-in-arm, as usual. Minus 3.

Side note: We swore Kristin Cavallari was Heidi Montag for a sec with the makeup and teased hair - but a lack of HUGE fake breasts dashed our hopes. Plus 2.

Kristin Cavallari: Drunk, Screaming, Likely Bedded By Brody Jenner

Kristin Cavallari recently denied a batch of drug rumors surrounding her hard partying, but didn't say anything about booze. Probably for good reason.

The star got into an early morning, alcohol fueled screaming match with a gorgeous brunette who was flirting with her ex, Brody Jenner, Wednesday.

At the Nylon Young Hollywood party at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Kristin Cavallari first spotted Brody hitting on Hills co-star Audrina Patridge.

She didn't seem interested, as she's dating Ryan Cabrera.

Jenner stopped speaking to Patridge to try to calm down Cavallari, who was on her second beer, but she grabbed his arm angrily before they parted.

At midnight, Cavallari stood up quickly with her dress hiked to her waist - flashing a pair of white mesh panties - and didn't seem all that concerned.

Luckily, MTV's cameras caught much or all of this.

However, a few minutes later, a gorgeous brunette began chatting up Jenner, making Cavallari - who gave the girl an icy hello - increasingly pissed.

Cavallari, who had been drinking all night, went all Naomi Campbell and threw a phone she received for free from a suite down on the floor in anger.

After about 30 minutes of Jenner's flirtation, Cavallari approached her and began screaming. The brunette's friends began yelling back at Cavallari.

A Hills producer was overheard whispering, "This is going to get ugly."

Brody Jenner intervened after about five minutes of fighting, pulling Cavallari away and giving her a hug. That's when he apparently closed the deal.

Cavallari smiled and flashed Jenner a hotel room key and the two of them - with their arms all over each other - took off together. Awwww yeeeah.

Here's hoping these two get back together ... we could use more stories like this on a daily basis, and Kristin's a bit less insane than Jayde Nicole.

Spencer Pratt Temporarily Leaves The Hills For Anger Management Counseling, Not Crime Fighting

Spencer Pratt is not retiring from The Hills to combat cyber threats, despite a hilarious, apparently serious report from People magazine Monday suggesting this.

The website cited a statement from Pratt himself claiming that he was joining the cyber security division at the American Defense Enterprise in the near future.

"All that stuff about him leaving The Hills to fight cyber crime is not true," an insider tells Us. "He is leaving The Hills for six weeks because he was asked to."

Asked to for what reason?

The source explains that Spencer Pratt recently "flipped out" on the set of the show after a female producer made a request to which the evil one objected.

GET A GRIP: Spencer Pratt will attempt to.

"He got so crazy that he screamed at [her], 'I should kill you for even asking me to do that!'" the source says, noting that she was "very rattled" by Spencer.

The producer filed a complaint with the show's top producers, who then threatened to kick Pratt off the show. Spencer's management offered a compromise.

"The show agreed that Spencer would leave The Hills for six weeks to do anger management training at home. If he completes it, he can return to the show."

He'll certainly have time to fit in the classes.

On top of his Hills leave, it was just announced that Pratt is no longer the manager for his wife, Heidi Montag, who hired some psychic "healer" nut job instead.

Spencer Pratt Quits The Hills to Fight Cyber Threats

The Hills just isn't the same without Lauren Conrad. Take away the entertainment of Spencer Pratt and it's pretty much worthless ... which we'd better get used to.

The reality TV villain says he's leaving the show, and we think he's serious, to take his career in a surprising new direction: To protect America from cyber threats.

Seriously. People reported this.

"In the last few months I discovered a new passion and new purpose to my life," Pratt said. "With this in mind, I have decided to take a break from MTV's The Hills."

Now studying software engineering with a focus on encryption at USC, Spencer Pratt says he's off to work for American Defense Enterprises' cyber security division.

His first mission? Making sure all Heidi Montag pictures are secure!

Our first, and hopefully not last line of defense against hackers.

"Upon learning of President Obama's declaration that the 'cyber threat is one of the most serious economic and national security challenges we face as a nation,' I have decided to refocus my energy and resources to helping America," he says.

"My new mission is this: To do my part in maintaining the technological superiority of the U.S. military and prevent emerging technologies from threatening our nation's security as we face this and other unprecedented challenges."

That's ... awesome actually. But this is Spencer Pratt. He can't possibly be serious, right? Is there a reality TV crew on call to film him fighting cyber-terrorists?

"I am saddened to take this break from MTV's The Hills," he admits. "However I feel I would not be honoring my country if I were to continue when I have the ability and opportunity to assist our nation against these prevalent threats."

Pratt's wife, Heidi Montag, remains on The Hills. Spencer has also been relieved of managerial duties for Heidi, who's now using Malibu-based psychic Aiden Chase.

Audrina Patridge, Ryan Cabrera Film The Hills

Audrina Patridge and Ryan Cabrera are not only an item, they're co-workers. Well, kind of. For her, "work" is being on MTV's non-reality show The Hills.

It looks like Cabrera has agreed to come on board the long-running program, filming scenes last Friday evening at Hollywood club La Vida with Audrina.

The two were being filmed "for about an hour at a secluded table on the patio," according to witnesses. Wonder what the cue cards had 'em talk about.

A rep for Ryan Cabrera confirmed that he'll appear on the show, but hasn't yet signed a deal. Looks as though his career is "On the Way Down." Sorry, had to.

Having dated years ago, the singer and reality star rekindled their romance in January. The two were seen holding hands in Mexico earlier this month.

It's easy to see why. He seems chill, and Patridge's most famous Hills romance was with that douche Justin-Bobby. From there, one can only improve.

Other men in her life haven't been that much better. Corey Bohan fizzled out, and Zachary Loring, well ... he's certifiably insane and stalks her a lot.

Doug Reinhardt, MTV Sued For Trashing Hills Pad

A nasty war between Doug Reinhardt and his landlord has resulted in a lawsuit in which the people behind The Hills are being sued for trashing some guy's house.

Man, no one likes that show anymore!

It began when Reinhardt, a.k.a. the boy toy of Paris Hilton, sued his landlord back in September, claiming the guy stiffed him out of a $21,000 security deposit.

Doug put that down on a Hollywood Hills home featured on the show. The landlord withheld it because Doug, he said, used it for The Hills without permission.

Moreover, the landlord also claims Doug Reinhardt and MTV caused "substantial physical and other damage" to the home while taping and is suing them for it.

DOUGIE LIKES: Reinhardt isn't smiling over this legal drama.

The landlord is going after Doug, MTV and Viacom for damaging the home and invading his privacy, plus he's accusing MTV of trespassing. Clearly he is not pleased!

He's asking for unspecified damages and attorney's fees.

Doug's rep shot back that he has photographic evidence proving he didn't trash the house ... and there was "no prohibitions to filming" in his contract with the guy.

He and Paris Hilton have plenty of experience getting the cops called on them for disputes at their respective places, but he's breaking new ground with this one.

Kristin Cavallari: Jealous of Jersey Shore

You know it's sad when a Jersey Shore cast member is something you aspire to be. But that's exactly where The Hills star Kristin Cavallari is at these days.

"I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of jealous," Kristin Cavallari said when asked about the new hit MTV show at her 23rd birthday party Saturday night at Beso.

Jersey Shore brought in more than 3.2 million viewers during last week's episode, an all-time high for the freshman series in its brief, ultra-trashy history.

By comparison, ratings for The Hills ratings dropped significantly during this past season, the first one in which Kristin replaced retired star Lauren Conrad.

We're not sure that's a coincidence.

The Situation (pun intended) at MTV right now is that Jersey Shore is clobbering The Hills' most recent season's ratings. Kristin Cavallari would jump ship if asked!

Just 1.72 million viewers saw the October season 5 finale of The Hills, while 2.6 million viewers watched the season 4 finale and more still the prior season.

No wonder Kristin Cavallari wants a piece of the Jersey Shore action. Her favorite character on that show: "The Situation," she said. "I mean, come on, right?"

Right.

She said she'd even date a guido herself. "Maybe, if I liked him," the blonde Laguna Beach alum confessed. "I mean, if I was attracted to him, absolutely."

How can you not be attracted to The Situation quotes? Come on.
