Christmas arrived a few weeks early for David Archuleta fans, as the American Idol finalist's holiday album ("Christmas from the Heart") has sold well.
The adorable crooner appeared this morning on Today and regaled Meredith Vieira with memories of his childhood, such as how he used to go caroling with his family in neighborhoods and in nursing homes.
From there, he performed the classic "Angels We Have Heard on High." Grab a Kleenex as you listen to it below:
Mike Fisher has won the heart of Carrie Underwood, and broken ours.
The Ottawa Senators hockey player and the country singer are engaged to be married, according to Mike himself, who confirmed it to the Ottawa Sun yesterday.
Asked about it just moments before his team's game against the Boston Bruins at Scoriabank Place, he said he popped the question to Underwood on Sunday.
"It's true," said Fisher. "We're both obviously excited and very happy."
Sens' teammate Chris Neil said Mike Fisher called him with the news.
"I think it's great news. It's a long time coming. There's going to be a lot of broken hearts in Ottawa with all those girls who are in love with Mikey," said Neil.
Not to mention THG staffers who are in love with Carrie.

The blogosphere had been buzzing after an Underwood family friend congratulated the former American Idol winner on the big news on Mike's Twitter page.
Underwood, who makes her home in Nashville, was in Ottawa through the weekend and was on hand for the Senators' 4-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild.
The couple has been dating for about a year, and have (impressively) kept their relationship largely out of the media. Time to get started on that big family!
Congratulations, Carrie and Mike! Sad as we are that she's off the market, we have to say, we approve of Mike and the way he goes about his business.

Britney Spears wants to separate fact from celebrity gossip.
The singer unveiled a "BS Alert" page on her Web site in an effort to call out the most outlandish stories written about her over the last 12 months.
"There were more then 13,000 stories written about Britney Spears in 2009," the blog, posted by the pop superstar's manager, Adam Leber, reads.
"We ranked the ones we believe were the most ridiculous."
Not surprisingly, given that Spears' actual antics were stranger than fiction for a time, there were several strong candidates for the 2009 top spot.
The winner? A UK report that the singer was dating Indian choreographer Sandip Soparrkar, and introduced the Bollywood dance star to her parents.
Britney Spears is no stranger to bizarre gossip stories.
While Sandip himself said he never dated Britney, he overtly suggested that Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph, started that rumor to drum up some publicity.
We wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised.

On last night's Survivor finale, Natalie White somehow outwitted, outlasted and outplayed Russell Hantz to claim the season's million-dollar prize.
Viewers groaned when the game's best player had to settle for second place, as Hantz was clearly the dominant contestant throughout the season.
It's a fact Russell himself wasn't afraid to speak on during a post-finale interview with TV Guide Magazine. A few excerpts follow...
On being named Fan Favorite: It's wonderful because that shows the jury that even the fans knew that I played the best game. And it shows them that they did make the wrong decision. The people are telling you, you made the wrong decision.
On the jury: I thought they would respect the game enough, because we go through so much out there, that they would vote for me. That’s why I was so confident, I thought that they would respect the game. But I was dead wrong on that. I played with a bunch of people who never should have played the game.
On his strategy: I don’t know how I’m going to play game until I start planning out who I’m playing with. I see if I can manipulate them, or if I have to follow somebody for a little while, to get rid of that person... I don’t know if I would play differently or if I would play the same. I don’t know that I would do it again.
Look for Russell Hantz to be included on the upcoming Survivor edition, which pits heroes against villains. It premieres on February 11.
Pete Doherty has been arrested for drug possession. That's nothing new. But getting busted immediately after leaving a court hearing for DUI? Wow.
The 30-year-old singer was escorted from Gloucester Court to a local police station by officers on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.
A spokeswoman for Gloucestershire Constabulary confirmed: "A 30-year-old Wiltshire man has been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a controlled substance. He is currently assisting police with their inquiries."
It was not revealed what substance Pete Doherty was believed to have been in possession of when he was arrested ... but heroin is a good guess!

Earlier in the day, the former boyfriend of Kate Moss pleaded guilty to drunk driving charges and received a £2,050 fine and an 18-month driving ban.
This punishment was handed down despite the singer having already been banned from driving in 2007 and never renewing his license afterward.
The charges related to an arrest in June, when he was caught driving away from a concert after consuming more than half a bottle of rum on stage.
He was also busted in June after shooting up on a plane.
The court heard that the out of control rocker had 21 previous drug offenses and six previous motoring offenses. We would have guessed higher.

The LAPD's preliminary investigation into the death of Brittany Murphy has established that there is no evidence of foul play or other criminal activity, sources say.
Police are now waiting for the Brittany Murphy autopsy results from the L.A. County Coroner. If the results raise red flags, the LAPD may pursue the matter further.
Investigators believe, pending the autopsy, that Murphy died of natural causes. But autopsy results have been deferred pending toxicology and neurological tests.
Still, the LAPD has not formally closed the investigation because of the possibility that Murphy, who passed away Sunday, overdosed on prescription medication.
“We are keeping the investigation open until the toxicology reports are available in five to six weeks,” an LAPD source privy to the investigation told Radar Online.

Given how much medication was found in her house, a source says “We are focusing on possible overdose scenarios including looking at prescription medicines.”
Coroner's office officials took a sample of her brain for testing. It will take weeks for test results to come through, along with various toxicology screenings.
Early yesterday, the 32-year-old actress was transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in L.A. after falling ill and being found unconscious in the bathroom.
Three attempts to resuscitate her failed and she was declared dead after suffering from cardiac arrest. She is survived by her husband, Simon Monjack.

Less than two days after Brittany Murphy died cardiac arrest at the age of 32, her husband Simon Monjack made his first comments about her tragic death.
"My world was destroyed yesterday," an emotional Simon told Access Hollywood. "I loved what Ashton [Kutcher] wrote on Twitter. It was comforting to me."
The message posted by Kutcher, Murphy's ex-boyfriend read, "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine ... My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon. see you on the other side kid."
Simon Monjack said that he did not know his wife's former Just Married co-star personally, but thanked Ashton, saying "I couldn't have said it better."
As far as what happened inside the actress' home Sunday, when Murphy was found unresponsive in the shower, Monjack it started as "a regular day."
"[Her mother] Sharon went in the bathroom because she had been in there a long time. Her mom screamed for me. I ran, then called 911," he said.
His world shattered after his young wife tragically passed away, a dejected Simon Monjack found comfort in the words of Brittany Murphy's ex Ashton Kutcher.
The L.A. Fire Department responded to a 911 call from the home and transported Murphy to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
L.A. County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said the actress' death "appears to be natural at this time." Murphy's autopsy results have been deferred.
With regards to reports that she was battling flu-like symptoms in recent days, Monjack said Murphy was sick, but it did not seem like anything serious.
"She had laryngitis," he said, noting that the 32-year-old had seen a doctor. "She had been tired at the end of the year. She had made a couple movies."
Monjack - who married Murphy in 2007, took exception to the idea that his wife was surrounded people (including himself) who were bad influences.
"I don't know why anyone would think that," he said.
"She found love. We found love. Brittany didn't get to where Brittany was with anyone controlling her or influencing her ... Brittany was Brittany."
