Brittany Murphy Drug Problem?

An authopsy revealed this week that Brittany Murphy did not die from an illegal drug overdose. As a result, her widower Simon Monjack said:

I know Brittany would want to feel the vindication. She never took a drug or a drink and that’s been shown.

But several sources have come forward and disclosed that the actress was actually addicted to prescription drugs. TMZ reported today that “between 2003-2009, Brittany had scores of prescriptions filled for 32 different drugs … and that was at just one L.A. pharmacy — and it’s not Eddie’s Pharmacy, the one that cut her off 4 months before her death because the owner feared an accident loomed. ”

Apparently, despite Murphy’s widower’s remark, the actress did have a drug “affinity”, and among the prescriptions she used to take were two sedatives (chlordiazepoxide and promethazine) and a drug similar to Prozac named Sarafem.

Report: Sandra Bullock Meets with Divorce Attorney Amid Jesse James Scandal; Split Imminent?

With allegations flying that he engaged in a tawdry tryst with Michelle McGee, both Sandra Bullock and Jesse James have been interviewing divorce lawyers.

Sandra's reps have been in touch with several high-end attorneys, including Lance Spiegel, whose clients have included Charlie Sheen and Michael Jackson.

As for Jesse James, we're told his business people have contacted several lawyers as well, but the likely cheating bastard will not be initiating the divorce.

His reps are asking the divorce attorneys "if they'd be interested in taking the case" if Sandra Bullock files first, which sources indicate she is likely to do.

Then again, we would have bet on Elin Woods doing the same, and we all know how that turned out. If Tiger can stay married, all bets are off for Sandra.

As for whether a divorce petition will be filed between Bullock and Jesse James, one source close to the couple simply said that "Something's happening."

Sandra Bullock has yet to comment on the Jesse James cheating rumors and potential split, but the scandal has caused her to miss two premieres of The Blind Side.

The Academy Award winner had originally planned also to travel to Berlin to promote the film, but abruptly suspended her promotional plans set for Monday evening.

"Warner Bros. issued a statement on Tuesday, March 16 stating that Sandra Bullock would not be traveling abroad due to unforeseen personal reasons," her rep said.

Looks like she's unavailable indefinitely, too: "Obviously that included everything that was scheduled for the European tour which included press and two premieres."

One can see why Bullock might want some time alone. In the span of less than a week, rumors have surfaced that her husband has been banging some tattoo model.

Suge Knight Wanted For Robbing Yukmouth

Former Death Row Records head honcho and occasional hard ass criminal Suge Knight allegedly beat and robbed rapper Yukmouth and is wanted by police.

Sources say the attack on the rapper, whose name is quite apt, albeit misspelled, took place at a Ralph's supermarket in the San Fernando Valley last night.

According to a law enforcement source, Suge and roughly 10 members of his posse allegedly beat up Yukmouth and then took $92,000 worth of jewelry.

In the world of Suge, he went easy on Yuks.

SMOKED: Yukmouth apparently was for crossing Suge Knight.

Sources say Suge and his entourage are suspects and that authorities want to question them. This has happened to Knight probably a few hundred times before.

Also, there's reportedly a previous misdemeanor warrant out for Suge's arrest, which puts him right up there in DMX's league in terms of multiple court dates.

The moral of the story: DO NOT MESS WITH SUGE KNIGHT.

Phil Spector Receives Ass-Kicking in Jail

Phil Spector has already been roughed up by the legal system. Now the convicted killer and certified creep is receiving a new taste of jail house justice!

The hot-tempered music legend is minding his tongue after having several teeth knocked out by a fellow inmate at the state prison in Corcoran, Calif.

"Phil has quite a mouth on him," says longtime pal Steven Escobar. "Not everyone understands his humor. He said the wrong thing to the wrong inmate."

Lacking any of his trusty firearms, poor Phil Spector wound up with a bruised nose, a black eye and the loss of a couple of caps, according to Escobar.

"He mouthed off to a big guy, who punched him," a source says of Phil, who's serving 19 years to life for shooting Lana Clarkson in the mouth in 2003.

"At first, Phil said that he fell down a flight of stairs," says Escobar of his incarcerated buddy. "Later, he told family and friends what really happened."

A spokesman for Spector's wife, Rachelle, initially corroborated that there was a jail house incident in November, telling the N.Y. Daily News: "There are safety concerns."

"We don't want the people who put him in this position to retaliate."

Rachelle did a 180, saying: "Phil was not assaulted. Absolutely not."

Discovery Channel May Win Sarah Palin Show

Looks like Sarah Palin is coming to the Discovery Channel.

A deal for the former governor and current professional celebrity's reality series, Sarah Palin's Alaska, is expected to be announced by the network in the coming days.

The travel series, produced by Mark Burnett, would feature Alaska's ex-governor giving tours of the state. Hopefully some Todd Palin snow machine shots are featured.

Sarah Palin started shopping around the show this month. Major networks passed, but Discovery showed interest. It could air on Discovery or its sister network, TLC.

Palin is asking $1.2 million per episode for Sarah Palin's Alaska, making it one of the most expensive nature series of all time, and constitute a seemingly ridiculous price, but if someone's willing to pay it, that's the free market for ya.

Reports Say Brittany Murphy Used Alias, Received Hundreds of Pills a Month

The late Brittany Murphy, who passed away in December, received no fewer than 200 pills a month from January 2008-August 2009, and sometimes as many as 400.

The actress used an alias, Lola Manilow Murphy, at Eddie's Pharmacy in L.A. for nearly two years before the pharmacy finally cut her off four months before she died.

Pharmacy records show Murphy got regular prescriptions for hydrocodone (Vicodin), clonazepam and Klonopin (anxiety), and Vicoprofen (a Vicodin/ibuprofen combo).

What's more, she doubled up on some prescriptions certain months.

For example, during one month in particular, Murphy was prescribed 200 hydrocodone and 100 clonazepam; another month it was 300 Vicoprofen and 100 Klonopin.

All the prescriptions were prescribed by Dr. Richard Kroop. One of many doctors under investigation in the case, he was paid a visit by authorities Friday afternoon.

The owner of Eddie's Pharmacy told TMZ he cut Brittany and her family off months before her death because, "We thought there was going to be an accident there."

Turns out he had his finger on the pulse there. Much like when THG told you in May 2007 that Simon Monjack was a shady character. Sometimes you just nail it.
