All of Germany is in an uproar about what an octopus picked for dinner, and that does not bode well for the country’s national team.

Paul the octopus selected the container that had the flag of Spain on it Tuesday, picking the Spaniards over the Germans in Wednesday’s semifinal encounter in Durban.
Paul has been on target in his previous five choices for Germany. The selection was considered so important that two German TV networks interrupted regular programming to televise his decision.

“We were all a little bit shocked when Paul picked Spain,” said Tanja Munzig, a spokeswoman for Sea Life in Oberhausen told Reuters. “To err is not only human; animals can also make mistakes. Let’s hope Paul got this one wrong.”

Michael Lohan admits that he believes her daughter's 90 days in jail sentence is completely wrong, saying 'Any kind of jail is harsh especially for a young lady like Lindsay that doesn't need jail.'

Michael Lohan doesn't think jail will help estranged daughter Lindsay Lohan overcome her problems. The troubled actress was sentenced to 90 days in prison on Tuesday, July 7, for violating her probation for a driving under the influence (DUI) arrest in 2007 but Michael thinks it's the wrong course of action for her.

"I feel dismay, but at the same time a little satisfaction that she's going to rehab. But the last thing in the world I wanted was for my daughter to go to jail... ," Michael, who claims Lindsay has an addiction to prescription drugs, told "Larry King Live". "Any kind of jail is harsh especially for a young lady like Lindsay that doesn't need jail. I've been there myself and I know that jail didn't do anything for me with my addictions. It was taking drug programs seriously."

His lawyer Lisa Bloom added, "I don't see the benefit of sending addicts to jail when they haven't hurt anyone. Lindsay's only been hurting herself."

Lindsay, 24, was ordered to surrender to authorities on July 20 to begin serving the term and Judge Marsha Revel also said she would be required to enter an in-patient rehabilitation program after her release from prison.

Clearly, God has intervened to stop Lindsay Lohan from running amok and thumbing her nose at all the decent drug fiends who have taken their lumps along with their rock because: LILO IS GOING TO JAIL! FOR 90 DAYS! ZOMG!

This time around, Lindz was charged with violating her probation by missing seven alcohol education classes over 27 weeks and not attending once a week, even though the presiding judge Martha Revel says she “couldn’t have been more clear.” Upon hearing the sentence, Lohan started to cry, saying,

“I am not taking this as a joke. This is my life. It is my career. It is something I have worked for all my life. I did the best I could to balance jobs and showing up. I was working … I was working with children, I wasn’t taking it as a joke … I wanted to come back and make you happy.”

Oh, ha, “taking it seriously” like skipping court dates and partying in France. Of course, this sentence means that I’ll have to scrounge around for someone else to make fun of, but I think I’m up to the challenge. Plus, she probably won’t be there for 90 days. Back in 2007, she didn’t even spend 90 minutes in lock-up for actual drunk driving, which is the charge that put her on the 3-year probation in the first place.

Which, I have to say, is bullshit. Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton both got released super-quick for the same reason: the jails are crowded and they were considered non-violent offenders with a low risk of repeat offenses, despite the fact that their drunk/influenced driving could have killed someone. They should have jailed Lindsay back when they finally caught her and not waited until she – what? Betrayed their trust? She’s a CRACKHEAD, you CAN’T TRUST THEM. Thank God Judge Revel seems to have it together, since she also sentenced Lohan to 90 days in rehab after her jail term is up, which gives me hope that she will have to serve all her time. Good thing she’s already a lesbian!

Lauren Conrad to Appear on The Hills Reunion

Lauren Conrad is finally returning to The Hills ... right after it ends.

One week from tonight, the girl who made the MTV reality show a hit will be on hand for the Live Reunion Show after the now-sagging series mercifully goes off the air.

The reunion will immediately follow the series finale of The Hills and the season finale of The City. Whitney Port reported the LC news, as well as her own attendance:

"I am so happy to tell you all that I will be attending the reunion, as will Lauren!" Whitney wrote on her official site. "I am so excited to see everyone and catch up."

"I am so excited to see what's next for them," the former Hills star and current City leading lady continued. "It's been so long since we have all been together."

REUNITED: For one night and one night only, next Tuesday.

What remains unclear is whether Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, exiled from the show in recent weeks without notice, will appear between now and July 13.

The gruesome twosome was featured prominently in the first part of this season, but then Spencer went haywire, they supposedly broke up in real life, etc.

It's not clear why, but there has been no explanation of their vanishing from the series. Tonight, the penultimate episode of The Hills airs, followed by The City.

The former will likely focus on Kristin and Audrina's predictably boring romantic drama. Sigh. We can only hope Speidi returns to liven things up one last time.

J-Woww Debuts Filthy Fashion Line

The fact that Jenni Farley, a.k.a. J-Woww from Jersey Shore, has a fashion line at all is ironic, given the sheer amount of skin the girl reveals on a daily basis.

Appropriately, though, the line goes by the name of Filthy Couture.

J-Woww debuted it on the runway for the first time at Vegas hotspot Ghostbar this holiday weekend in a 35-minute show, or 33 minutes more than necessary.

If you've seen one J-Woww fashion selection, you've seen them all - and all or most of the giant fake breasts they reveal before ending up on the floor anyway.

But anyway, models bounded down the catwalk in everything from swimsuits and casual wear to items that Farley-coined “club wear” ... undoubtedly classy.

Anchored by a smattering of paint or lace, “a lot of these pieces are silicone, gel or hand painted,” the reality star said at the launch party for the clothing line.

As for seeing her own fashion make its runway debut?

“Very unreal. Surreal,” Farley said. “I’ve had this vision for a long time, and I’ve been in school for seven years doing it but never thought it would come true.”

Jailed! Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to 90 Days For Probation Violation; Star Breaks Down in Tears

Lindsay Lohan's day of reckoning has arrived, and an orange jumpsuit will soon follow - she'll be doing 90 days in jail for violating probation, followed by rehab.

The troubled actress must surrender July 20.

She's beaten the rap before, but from the very beginning today, the star's attempts to evade jail for skipping mandatory alcohol education classes were doomed.

She has now made good on the classes, but that wasn't true in May, when she bailed on her last hearing and ended up free on bail wearing a SCRAM device.

Whether she remained free or not rested with no-nonsense Judge Marsha Revel, who sentenced LiLo after incredulous prosecutor Danette Meyers took it to her.

Hard core.

UP AGAINST IT: The evidence against her too strong and the judge no pushover, Lindsay and lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley were unable to defy the odds again.

Court proceedings began with a victory for the troubled star. Revel ruled out the matter of the SCRAM device going off after the MTV Movie Awards June 7.

The hearing was thus exclusively about whether Lindsay Lohan violated probation by not attending enough alcohol ed classes at the time of the last hearing.

Not that she was out of the woods by any means.

The Office Manager at the Right On program testified that the program knew the judge wanted Lindsay to attend class once a week, which she did not.

Co-owner Cheryl Marshall testified that she violated the program by failing to attend the classes and coming up with a variety of excuses throughout.

The program determined in both May and August 2009 that Lindsay's excuses were "endless and disrespectful" and that she was not in compliance.

Prosecutors are clearly not taking this lightly, running down the list of times - nine total - that Lindsay skipped class, often for weeks at a time no less.

Court adjourned until 1:30 PST, but when it resumed, it was clear that the evidence was piling up against Lohan - she violated probation, plain and simple.

There were lots more excuses, but ultimately they didn't fly. Revel laid the smack down on Lohan and sentenced her to almost three months in the can.

Lohan's probation was contingent upon her attending classes and staying clear of trouble following her 2007 DUI conviction. Suffice it to say, it didn't take.

The judge noted that there was a pattern of violations since Lindsay was placed on probation in 2007 following her plea bargain in her DUI case. Ya think?

Lindsay dissolved into tears when the judge imposed the sentence, then broke down as she addressed the court, telling the judge, "I did the best I could."

On staying under the radar: "I try to be myself. I don’t try to go anywhere in particular. We just do regular things like regular people do and if there happens to be somebody around that’s a reporter or somebody, they may take a picture on their own."

On public perception of her: "Anybody that says anything to me is supportive and they kind of feel for me for how certain things are perceived on the internet. I have yet to meet someone who strongly dislikes me to my face."

On doing reality TV one day: "I have no interest in doing that... I would NEVER do [a reality show], that is not the direction that I’d ever want my life to go into."

On who Ellen Ross really is: "I’m very down to earth. I like to avoid drama and I have a lot of close friends and I’m close with my family. I just try to go with the flow and take things as they come to me. I’m pretty personable. I’m easy to get along with."

Kim Kardashian and Miles Austin Shut Down Night Club, Honor America's Birthday

To some, the Fourth of July means friends, family and two of the cutest young artists on the planet.

To others, it means private yachts, drinking and a party so exclusive that bouncers actually bar the public from entering.

Count Kim Kardashian in the latter group, as she and Miles Austin stopped by a club named Avenue in Long Branch, New Jersey on Friday night. The pair shut down the place entirely, sources say, arriving around midnight and prompting the manager to take charge.

“He was telling guests outside that he had special guests inside,” a witness told Hollywood Life. “Even though the club was half empty he wouldn’t let anyone in.”

For a change, Kim was reportedly keen on not having her photo taken. She had security surround her and Austin at a private table all evening and:

“At one point Kim got up to use the restroom and was protected by three huge bodyguards. They were keeping her hidden from the crowd.”

The couple left after just an hour or so at the venue. Later in the weekend, they boarded a private yacht with the rest of the Kardashians in honor of Khloe's birthday. These people live really tough lives.

Gregory Michael: Vienna Girardi and I Made Out!

ABC can bleep his name all it wants, but Greek's Gregory Michael is caught in the middle of the Breakup of the Century between Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi.

In last night's explosive interview on The Bachelorette, Jake accused his ex-fiancee of cheating with Michael, which she denied. "There [was] nothing," she said.

Michael says there was something, alright.

"That's a lie," the actor told Us Weekly. "We definitely made out that weekend [June 20] and Vienna made it very clear that it was over between her and Jake."

Girardi said they only danced for less than "nine seconds," but Michael counters: "I wouldn't say we danced for a few seconds. We danced as a group all night."

"We also danced alone for parts of the evening."

Was Vienna Girardi lying about her dalliances with Gregory Michael during last night's tell-all interview - and is Jake's now-single ex seeing the Greek star now?

Michael says she did tell the truth when she told Jake Pavelka that she hardly knew him: "At the time the interview was conducted, we hardly knew each other."

But he took aim at Jake when the former Bachelor star referred to him directly when saying, "That boy told me you cheated when he went on-the-record."

"I never said she cheated," Michael insisted. "I said we hooked up and she said they were broken up. I would never do that if she was in a relationship."

He says he doesn't know anything about Pavelka's claim that Vienna Girardi hooked up with other guys: "I don't know what flings Jake is referring to."

The ABC interview ended with Vienna storming out in tears after Jake raised his hand in anger and stunningly reprimanded her for interrupting him.

LINDSAY LOHAN ARRIVES IN COURT

According to The Associated Press, Lohan will appear before Judge Marsha Revel in a Beverly Hills courtroom following the revocation of her probation in May after she missed a scheduled hearing because she was stuck at the Cannes Film Festival due to a lost passport (it was hiding at the bottom of a bottle of vodka).

Considering Lohan has missed multiple court appearances and failed to comply with all of the terms of the sentence stemming from her 2007 DUI, jail time hasn't been ruled-out - apparently if that is the case, she will be taken into custody immediately, meaning her Linda Lovelace biopic will be shelved :(

After the aforementioned incident three years ago, the actress pleading guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine and no contest to two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent and one count of reckless driving. She's also been accused of holding to guys hostage in a stolen car, but we're not sure if that's connected - it's too hard to keep up.

It was Judge Revel who ordered Lohan to wear the SCRAM bracelet in May. We don't think it's the same person as Strictly Come Dancing Judge Craig Revel Horwood, but you never know...
