For a pretty mellow guy, Edward Norton has played some totally badass characters. Norton does it once again this weekend as the title character "Stone," in which he plays a manipulative, convicted arsonist who attempts to con a parole officer played by Robert De Niro.
If you give Norton passes on "Death To Smoochy" and the romantic comedy "Keeping The Faith," pretty much all of his characters are tough, sharp individuals. And if you set aside their moral shortcomings, they're the type of guys who would be great to have backing you in a brawl. Here's our top six Norton characters to take to a fight.
Worm is a jerk. A loyal jerk, but a jerk nontheless. And he was never afraid to thrown down. Although Worm might do or say something stupid to make a bad situation worse, he's smart. Anyone who would try to pull a fast one on Russian mobsters has some serious balls, and we want those balls on our side.
Another loyal character, Monty didn't rat on his friends when questioned by police about his drug ring. Entering a bad situation before prison, Monty has his friend beat the crap out of him ("Make me ugly!") so he'd appear like a man to avoid in jail. We like that.
Can you imagine getting ready to throw down with a magician? Eisenheim could disappear then reappear right in a dude's face and then jack-slap the crap out of the poor dope. Not only would it be advantageous to have a magician with you in a fight, it would be highly amusing.
Prior to reforming himself in prison, Derek was a ruthless Neo-Nazi who who curb-stomped a guy. It's a pretty disturbing scene. While we absolutely do not subscribe to Derek's pre-incarceration ideology, he would be a good person to have on your side in a brawl (and a bad person to have against you).
"The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets!" That's a remarkable advantage, right? As an added bonus, you could have Lou Ferrigno as a sideline cheerleader. The only reason Hulk doesn't take the top spot is because of the risk that Dr. Bruce Banner doesn't get sufficiently pissed off and slinks away from a conflict.
It's kind of a two for one deal here, and if that's a movie spoiler for you, it's your own fault. The Narrator (Jack) not only beat the crap out of himself, but after he took his licks in the blood-spattered basement, he (and Tyler) violently abused some dudes. If we ever found ourselves in a fight club we'd like to have one or both of these guys on our side.

Mel Gibson’s stalker was found guilty of felony stalking. The man, named Zack Sinclair, wished to pray with Gibson. In court, Mel made a statement, saying that Zack “doesn’t appear to know his boundaries”.

Janet Jackson was granted a restraining order against Robert Cardner, who stalked her for 9 years. In one incident, Cardner showed up to a rehearsal of Saturday Night Live where Janet was to make an appearance. He was found to be in possession of a box cutter, a large pair of scissors and a knife.
David Letterman
David Letterman’s most recent stalker was arrested for plotting to kidnap Letterman’s 18-month-old son and nanny. He was also previously stalked by a woman named Margaret Ray, who commit suicide after a longtime obsession with Letterman.
Richard Gere’s stalker left him various voicemails – one which was particularly disturbing stated: “I want to be with you and share your life… I need to see you… Death seems to be the best… I can take a pistol and kill myself.” She later pleaded guilty to aggravated harassment.

He began to follow her to her public appearances, wearing joker face paint, clearly inspired by The Dark Knight. He was delusional and believed to be dating Kim. It won’t be long now until Miley Cyrus turns 18 years old, and I swear I was waiting until that day to say anything sexual about her. But fuck it, I can’t wait any longer! Not after Miley Cyrus released a concert DVD that can be compared to any soft porn movie out there.

The same can't be said for Gossip Girl cast member Taylor Momsen.
Speaking to FHM UK this week, the 16-year old lashed out at critics that compare her to Miley, making it very clear that she doesn't see any similarities between the pair.
"I'm not looking to be Miley f*cking Cyrus," Momsen said. "I don't care about the fame. I do it because I love music. I like making records and if people like them, then we'll go along for the ride."
Momsen and Cyrus may both act and sing, but that's pretty much where the comparisons end. The former fronts rock band The Pretty Reckless, while the latter is nothing more than a Britney Spears wannabe at this point.
Still, Taylor feels a need to distance herself from Miley, adding: "I think the Disney bubblegum shit that the world is living right now is pathetic. I thought we passed that repression."
It's unclear what that actually means, but Gossip Girl fans have made their opinion of Momsen and her character well-known: Jenny Humphrey has been written out of most of next season on the show.

This is one of those random, crazy stories I love. A 4-year-old photo of a topless Ashley Judd made it’s way to a billboard in a Prestonburg, Kentucky golf course this week in response to the actress’ comments last month calling mountaintop mining the “rape of Appalachia”.
What is it with celebrities and throwing around the word rape like it’s candy. (Think: Kristen 
Spokesmen from Friends of Coal and the Pikeville-based Coal Operators and Associates said that they don’t know who made the poster, but since they happened to be sponsoring a golf tournament at a club built atop one of those mines we are all assuming it was them.
The golf course poster reads “Ashley makes a living removing her top. Why can’t coal miners?” It was first spotted Wednesday, referring to the photo of a topless Judd using her arms to cover her breasts that ran in a 2006 issue of Marie Claire. Hell hath no fury like a coal miner scorned.
In a speech to the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., Judd, who grew up largely in Kentucky, called herself a “proud hillbilly” and demanded an end to the practice of blasting the tops off of mountains in order to get at the minerals within, a major industry in the region.
“I’m not too keen on reinforcing stereotypes about my people, but I don’t know many hillbillies who golf,” she said, criticizing StoneCrest Golf Course, where the poster showed up, in particular.
“It is time to retire the cynical and superficial coal company-created argument that we must choose between people, their jobs, and our mountains,” she added. “That is simply false, fear-based and fear-mongering.”
Industry defenders would rather it be Judd who keep quiet from now on.
“Coming from a woman who makes movies most people wouldn’t take their children to, I really don’t think she has a lot to say about our industry or anything else that’s worthwhile,” David Gooch, president of the Coal Operator’s Association, told Kentucky’s WYMT-TV, which reported that an anonymous donor paid for the sign.
“She’s not an Eastern Kentuckian. A real Eastern Kentuckian never would have degraded the people here by saying hillbillies don’t play golf.”
But others opposed to mountaintop reclamation are standing firmly behind Judd and are appalled by the “terribly derogatory and sexist” nature of the poster.
“On the bright side, Ashley has certainly gotten under the skin of the callous coal industry hacks and now they’re on the defensive,” writes Rob Perk of the National Resources Defense Council. “For that, as well as her steadfast crusade to protect her beloved mountains from rapacious coal companies that have no compunction about blasting Appalachia’s natural and cultural heritage to oblivion, consider me a fan forever of Ashley Judd.”
But what do we know about it? We're simply a (very attractive) celebrity gossip blog. We can't relate to the life of a teenage celebrity.
Kellie Martin can, however. The actress rose to fame on the sitcom Life Goes On and has remained grounded, most recently recurring on ER as the character of Lucy Knight and guest-starring on episodes of Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.
Asked by Fancast.com if she had any advice for Miley, Martin replied:
"Go to college. I really think that saved me. Fred [Savage] went to Stanford, Mayim [Bialik] went to UCLA, I went to Yale... It’s really, really important to get an education because when all of this is gone, then at least you have your education."

Wouldn't it be great if Cyrus followed the advice? It's just a shame no one offered it to Lindsay Lohan.

Breaking her silence in her first-ever interview, Ellen recently told Pop on the Pop all about her surprisingly normal life with the reality star and much more.
Excerpts from Ellen Ross' Q&A with POTP below ...
On their first date: "It was a backyard barbecue. You get together, sit around, have drinks, talk. That’s just the kind of stuff we do. We’re like a regular couple."
On what she likes about Jon: "He’s funny, he’s very down to earth, he’s very laid back. Obviously, he’s a good father**! He’s fun to be around, always thinks of fun things to do. We actually have a lot in common; I think that’s why we get along so well."
Jon likes what he sees in Ellen Ross ... and/or that sweet phone.
On whether she had Jon get a tattoo of her name: "NO! Those were words taken out of context. The tattoo artist is my friend and has done work on me... I suggested, when Jon wanted to get a tattoo, that he go to my friend. That’s how that came up."
On staying under the radar: "I try to be myself. I don’t try to go anywhere in particular. We just do regular things like regular people do and if there happens to be somebody around that’s a reporter or somebody, they may take a picture on their own."
On public perception of her: "Anybody that says anything to me is supportive and they kind of feel for me for how certain things are perceived on the internet. I have yet to meet someone who strongly dislikes me to my face."
On doing reality TV one day: "I have no interest in doing that... I would NEVER do [a reality show], that is not the direction that I’d ever want my life to go into."
On who Ellen Ross really is: "I’m very down to earth. I like to avoid drama and I have a lot of close friends and I’m close with my family. I just try to go with the flow and take things as they come to me. I’m pretty personable. I’m easy to get along with."
To others, it means private yachts, drinking and a party so exclusive that bouncers actually bar the public from entering.
Count Kim Kardashian in the latter group, as she and Miles Austin stopped by a club named Avenue in Long Branch, New Jersey on Friday night. The pair shut down the place entirely, sources say, arriving around midnight and prompting the manager to take charge.

In last night's explosive interview on The Bachelorette, Jake accused his ex-fiancee of cheating with Michael, which she denied. "There [was] nothing," she said.
Michael says there was something, alright.
"That's a lie," the actor told Us Weekly. "We definitely made out that weekend [June 20] and Vienna made it very clear that it was over between her and Jake."
Girardi said they only danced for less than "nine seconds," but Michael counters: "I wouldn't say we danced for a few seconds. We danced as a group all night."
"We also danced alone for parts of the evening."
Was Vienna Girardi lying about her dalliances with Gregory Michael during last night's tell-all interview - and is Jake's now-single ex seeing the Greek star now?
Michael says she did tell the truth when she told Jake Pavelka that she hardly knew him: "At the time the interview was conducted, we hardly knew each other."
But he took aim at Jake when the former Bachelor star referred to him directly when saying, "That boy told me you cheated when he went on-the-record."
