Joe Jackson: I'd Beat Michael All Over Again

Okay, our headline above is a bit misleading. Joe Jackson did not say this verbatim, but reading between the lines a bit ... that's pretty much exactly what he said.

On the same day as Michael Jackson's "Breaking News" hit the Internet, his family continues to make news for reasons entirely unrelated to his musical legacy.

Child Abuser

Joe Jackson simply will not go away.

As part of Oprah's controversial interview with Michael Jackson's folks and kids, Joe says he never beat MJ ... he used a strap. And y'know what? He'd do it again.

Sounds to us like splitting hairs. Unless you're on the business end, in which case you're getting whooped, no matter the terminology. What an awful person.

You can follow this link to watch Oprah, who was as surprised as we were that Joe even showed his face, call out Joe. We'll have the full interview up ASAP.

Joe and Katherine Jackson: Coming to Oprah

Oprah Winfrey may have just lost Oksana Grigorieva, but she's landed another celebrity interview scoop: Katherine and Joe Jackson sat down with her this weekend.

The parents of Michael Jackson will appear in a taped segment for O's show.

Katherine and Joe Jackson have an interesting relationship.

It looks like O's interview has went down, too, although it's not clear when it will be televised. Production trucks for Oprah's show were parked outside of the Jackson family compound in Encino, Calif., for the better part of Saturday.

Oprah can be seen meeting with several family members and getting the tour of the house while doing an interview focused heavily on (guess) Michael Jackson.

Katherine will be talking about his life, Michael Jackson's kids and the book she wrote about his life. Joe? He's just kinda there. Is he still with Katherine? Or just suing everyone and everything he can while angling for a piece of the pie?

Joe has been filing suit after suit in response to MJ's death last year, but he was cut out of the singer's will, meaning he has no dog in the legal fight, so to speak. Then again, reports say Katherine supports him, even though they live apart.

It's all very unclear. But the interview should be interesting.

Dr. Conrad Murray Charges Not Enough, Joe and La Toya Jackson Incoherently Claim

The involuntary manslaughter charge filed against Dr. Conrad Murray in the death of Michael Jackson wasn't nearly enough to satisfy the late icon's father, Joe.

Following Murray's arraignment on Monday, a disappointed Joe did what he does best - went on Larry King Live to ridiculously say that Michael was murdered.

Joe Jackson never met a microphone he didn't like to babble nonsensically into, and somehow managed once again to make Michael's sad death all about him.

The Jackson family patriarch said that Michael's death was part of a larger plot and Murray got off easy. Michael's sister La Toya issued a similar statement.

Here's Joe Jackson on Larry King Live last night ...

Joe Jackson on Larry King

Attorney Brian Oxman seconded that the reckless administration of Propofol by Murray would constitute second degree murder for any victim not named MJ.

Never mind that the charge came after a six-month investigation and that there was clearly no intent by Murray, however careless he was, for Michael to die.

Yesterday, Katherine Jackson, Michael's mother, labeled Murray a monster. That he may be, but a murderer in the eyes of the law is quite another matter.

Michael Jackson Estate Still Battling Joe Jackson

Joe Jackson.

That's the biggest reason the executors of Michael Jackson's estate believe they are entitled to more than the statutory fee most executors receive.

That and the 14-hour days.

According to legal documents filed with the court, co-executors John Branca and John McClain "defend the estate from a steady barrage of attacks."

Those attacks would be courtesy of the late music icon's erratic father, Joe Jackson and, until recently, by his mother and other family members too.

They claim they've been working 14 hours a day, seven days a week since they were appointed and say their "business reputations and the character and reputation of Michael Jackson were being assaulted by personal and unfounded attacks."

Michael Jackson and Joe Jackson

Joe Jackson is still making Michael's life difficult.

This forced them to correct these allegations fervently and publicly in order to protect the Michael Jackson estate and the Michael Jackson brand.

No specific behavior by Joe was mentioned (in reports), but his relentless quest to cash in can mean objections raised to ... just about everything.

Guy is not known for tact, either.

Branca and McClain say at the time Michael Jackson died June 25, Michael and his businesses were named as defendants in 11 separate lawsuits.

It only got worse after his death.

Executors get a percentage of the value of the estate. Jackson's two are asking for "extraordinary compensation" for work most executors never have to do.
