Members of the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services just arrived at the Jackson family home in Encino ... TMZ has learned.
As we first reported, social workers will be interviewing Michael Jackson's children, along with the other children living in the home. DCFS will also interview family members and employees about the stun gun incident.
The Jackson family has released a statement about the stun gun incident which triggered an investigation by the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services.
According to the statement, issued by Katherine Jackson's lawyer Adam Streisand, Jermaine's 13-year-old son Jaafar ordered a gun online and it was delivered to the Jackson family home two weeks ago in Encino. The statement says the gun was a "taser." Our sources say it was a stun gun, and we have a picture of the type of gun on the site (see below).
Streisand says Jaafar opened the package alone in his bathroom and "tested it on a piece of paper." According to the statement, Mrs. Jackson and security heard the sound coming from the second floor and confiscated the "taser."
The statement goes on ... Katherine removed the "taser" from the house. As we reported, a stun gun was at the house last night when social workers from DCFS confiscated it.
Now here are some of the discrepancies: Streisand says there was only one gun. Sources tell us some of the employees on the property will tell DCFS there were two guns.
Streisand says neither Blanket nor Paris saw or heard the "taser." Sources tell us some of the employees will tell DCFS Jaafar was in the same room with Blanket and Paris and pointed a stun gun at them.
Streisand says, "All of the kids are happy, healthy and wonderful and that is Mrs. Jackson's only objective and concern."

The singer responsible for "Cherry Pie" is a wanted man once again -- but this time it's a judge who wants an audience with him instead of a bunch of groupies that reek of Vidal Sassoon hairspray.
TMZ has learned a warrant was ironically issued for former Warrant singer Jani Lane last week, after he failed to show up to two court appearances connected to his 2009 DUI conviction.
We're told Lane was scheduled to appear in court on February 23 to show the judge he's completed his alcohol classes and community service -- but he never showed.
The court date was rescheduled for February 24 ... but Lane missed that one too.
We spoke to Lane's lawyer, who says the singer has been in the hospital and won't be able to make it to court until next week.
As for why he's in the hospital ... no word.
As we previously reported, a company called Super Happy Fun Fun was seeking to use the name in connection with video game content -- and now we know what they're planning on doing with it.
The company -- who filed for rights to the Octo-moniker a month before the cackling mother of 14 did -- is putting the finishing touches on an iPhone game (screenshots above), which they'll then submit to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for final trademark stamp of approval next week.
In the game, you're OctoMom in the delivery room -- and the goal is to shoot a baby out of her hooha and into the hands of her waiting mother. And yes, there's extra credit if you do it when a paparazzo is in the room.
If Super Happy gets approval, it doesn't mean Ms. Suleman can't cash in too -- as we previously reported, she's already applied to trademark her name in connection with reality TV, clothing and diapers.
Rihanna's incredible physique is the subject of a nasty legal battle -- and it's all because the singer allegedly didn't pay her personal trainer for a few days worth of work.
The trainer -- Cindy Percival -- filed the lawsuit against Rihanna in L.A County Superior Court last week, claiming the singer owes her $26,144.14 in unpaid wages from 2009.
In the lawsuit, Cindy claims she was hired to perform "exclusive personal training services" for Rihanna for $1,500 per day -- but never got a check for a couple of weeks of work between September and October.
Cindy is also asking for $2,644.14 in travel expenses -- because she claims she had to travel all over Europe to meet up with Rihanna ... to make her bend, stretch, pump and sweat in person ... which really should be payment enough.
No comment from Rihanna's people.

First, let me just say for the record: I am not calling Jennifer Love Hewitt “Pear Ass” because I’m a nasty person - Love has told the story (twice now) as to how Jamie Kennedy referred to her as a “pear ass” the first time he saw her naked, and how she and Jamie have “embraced the pear”. So, with that embracing of the Pear Ass in mind, I bring this lovely update - Jennifer Love Hewitt has lost some weight, and she looks amazing. I didn’t really see a problem with her (slightly heavier) Pear Ass before, I just thought it was funny that she was always trying to convince us that she was a size two when she clearly wasn’t.
So, anyway, this is Jennifer Love and the cast of The Ghost Whisperer celebrating their 100th episode on Monday night in LA. Love seems to be wearing one of those Herve Leger dresses that every startlet has in a million colors. This look is working for me on Love - I think she looks really pretty, and it’s obviously her night. One hundred episodes on a hit television show is nothing to sniff at. Good for her.

John Mayer is still apologizing for his recent Playboy interview, but that doesn't mean he's cleaning up his act.
The embattled pop singer performed two sold-out shows Thursday and Friday at Madison Square Garden, where he again issued a mea culpa for his off-color comments in the men's mag.
"I hate to come off like an ass-, and thank you guys for believing that I am not an ass-. Never, ever in my entire life did I ever think that it would be a good idea to be an ass-," Mayer stuttered to a house packed with loyal fans. "It's a clean 'me' now, people. Clean me."
Well, not quite: Mayer spent the weekend partying at NoLita hot spot La Esquina - which is near the 2,500-square-foot SoHo apartment he owns - and acting, well, less-than-gentlemanly.
"He was drinking and saying vulgar things to the girls at the bar," says a spy. "He was hitting on one pretty brunette in particular, but she found him slimy because he was being so over-the-top."
We hear women aren't the only challenge the crooner can't seem to navigate: Friends say that even before the Playboy fiasco, he was having a love-hate relationship with the media.
"After every interview he gave, John would agonize over it and mentally kick himself over everything he said," says an insider. "He would swear it would be the last time, but it never was, and it became a never-ending cycle."
That cycle came to a head with the Playboy interview - in which Mayer talked about everything from his sex life with Jessica Simpson to his love of porn. And let's not forget about those crass comments that enraged African-Americans. "He always thinks he's being funny at the time but doesn't understand it's actually offensive," says a close friend. "He's very smart - he just needs to realize that not everyone finds him funny."
A female friend, meanwhile, suggests Mayer just needs to find the right woman - if he doesn't scare her off first.
"All he wants is to find the perfect girl," says the gal pal. "But he gets infatuated with women really quickly, and he's always asking other people for advice on what to do. It's like he becomes fixated on whoever he's dating."
Meanwhile, another friend makes a valid point: "Who's going to date him if he keeps pulling these stunts?"
Certainly not the young stunner at La Esquina. "She thought he was being really disrespectful," says the spy. "She definitely didn't go home with that sleaze."
Looking lovely on the cover of Nylon magazine, Katy Perry dished about her new music and her thoughts about other artists in the latest issue.
The “Waking Up in Vegas” singer spoke of the multiple different female singers out and what makes her different, telling, “You’ve got GaGa, who’s like, from outer space; you’ve got Ke$ha, who’s the beer-drinking, house-party girl; and then you’ve got Rihanna, who’s transforming the urban world into her own outer space.”
But Perry feels there’s something more needed in the mix. “I feel like you’re missing an Alanis Morissette, in 2010. I love how she was a voice for a lot of people who couldn’t explain their feelings. But it’s not like I’m not gonna compete. I love a good dose of healthy competition. It’s not going to be the same that they’re doing…”
Perry also opened up about what she and Taylor Swift have in common, saying, “Sometimes I really feel like I’m more of a Taylor Swift. She tells stories, and I think that’s why she resonates with a lot of people. She hits the hidden chord in them [where they say], ‘Oh my God, I’ve been through that too,’ or ‘You said it in a way I could never explain.’”
