Less than 48 hours after the tragic Fantasia overdose, in which the former American Idol winner was rushed to a North Carolina hospital Monday night, the 911 call a friend placed to authorities has been released.
During the panicked conversation, an unidentified acquaintance says Fantasia is "slowly losing consciousness" after ingesting a bottle of aspirin.
The caller adds that Barrino has been placed in the shower to keep her awake and is breathing on her own. Listen for yourself:

A report from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department classified the incident as a "suicide attempt."
Yesterday, Fantasia's rep released a statement, saying Barrino "was totally overwhelmed with the lawsuit" brought on this week by Paula Cole and is "heartbroken and sorry for any pain she may have caused."
Sources now say Barrino is home and resting safely. We wish her a speedy recovery.
