So How Does Brazil Really Feel About Paris Hilton

In a country where tiny dental floss bikinis are the norm, and where people parade around nearly naked during the annual carnival, there are still some boundaries. And one of them is Paris Hilton…apparently. It seems Paris latest commercial has offended the Brazilian government and caused a stir.

It’s all a result of a beer ad Paris appears in. In it, Paris rubs a can of Devassa (which translates to “naughty”) Beer on herself while people look through her window.

But a spokesperson for Brazil’s Secretariat for Women’s Affairs says , “It’s an ad that devalues women – in particular, blond women,” and they would like it off the air.

Another government spokesperson said the ad is offensive, not because there is a lack of clothing (because there isn’t a lack), but because of its sensual nature. According to that spokesperson’s lopsided argument, he says, “The problem with the ad isn’t a lack of clothing, but its sensual nature,” he said. “A woman in a bikini on a beach isn’t necessarily sensual; it depends on the context.”

That’s really dumb reasoning Brazilian government. You sound stupid. Women with huge behinds in dental floss bikinis parading around the beach isn’t sensual, but pouring beer on yourself is? Stupid.

We agree and support Paris who wrote of the incident on her Twitter: “Are they serious? So ridiculous.”
